Recruitment works the same way, except that it takes longer in NTW for smaller turn times (Every turn in ETW is a season while that of NTW is half a month). In ETW, you have to manually replenish your troops, but NTW automatically does it with the rate depending on your regional logistics. This is where things really get different. NTW's map may be geographically small, but it is denser in terms of regions. In ETW, the French heartland consists of a single region while NTW has 7 French core regions. But the only downside to this is the lack of regions in this game. The game also gives you five continents to conquer, so the game feels much more global. The scenario isn't fixed in a particular conflict, you can more freely choose your allies and enemies. For example, when you're playing as France, you always have to get rid of the Coalition i.e., Austria, Prussia, Russia, and Britain if you want. Since NTW focus on one man, strategic options are likely going to be limited for you. But you can convert political alignments in the Peninsular mini-campaign, but that's not important unless you're going to buy DLCs. You could still see the religious demographics in each region, but unlike Empire, you can't convert religions in Napoleon. The only difference is that NTW doesn't have missionaries.
